On May 16th and 21st, we invite you to Primavera Verda, a series of activities, workshops, and talks related to artificial intelligence and social justice
Organized by Justícia Climàtica, the environmental activism group of SCI Catalunya, Primavera Verda is held again this year with the intention of fostering a critical view of how our society functions globally and locally, and to propose challenges and alternatives for living in a sustainable and more just world with our natural and social environment.
PROGRAM
– Mapping out of capital accumulation and systems of oppression.
– Exploring how the systems are connected and situate AI within them.
– Examining concepts such as longtermism, extractivism, environmental impact on the previously colonized world and green tech.
With Anna Mundet, activist from Ecologistes en Acció, and Carlos Bajo, journalist and researcher on ICT uses.

– Context and overview of data centers in Catalonia, Spain, and Europe.
– Analysis from a Global South perspective: examples and effects of AI in other territories.
With Futurs impossibles, a campaign of the Xarxa d’Economia Solidària and Coòpolis.– Practical workshop to propose future scenarios, starting from the premise of the ecological and ecosocial crisis we face, in order to carry out collective work of imagination and reflection.
