Aquest estiu, campem arreu!

Et presentem els camps de treball que tindran lloc a Catalunya i a Europa aquest estiu. No perdis l’oportunitat de participar en un projecte de voluntariat transformador!

Hi ha centenars de projectes de voluntariat transformador de curta durada durant tot l’any, però a l’estiu es multipliquen les opcions. Tot i que no hi ha una data límit d’inscripció als camps de treball, és a partir d’aquest moment que la base de dades de projectes comença a omplir-se d’oportunitats. El context segueix sent complex a causa de la Covid19 i és per això que recomanem participar en projectes de voluntariat europeus o locals.  No t’ho perdis, aquest estiu, #CampemArreu!

blankNETHERLANDS: Spring holidays for children from undocumented families (30th April – 8th May)

Description: The aim of our project is to give 60 children (5-11 years old) from undocumented families a great time during Spring holidays. We will have activities in and around Amsterdam, such as games, museums etc. After your application we will contact you by skype or zoom to talk about your experience with children and your motivation to participate.

Type of Work: Playing with children, taking care of them, make sure they are safe, help with cooking food, etc.

 

blankSWITZERLAND: Mountain Paths and Pastures (31th May – 11th June)

Description: Salecina is located at the border of Upper Engadin and Bergell in one of the most beautiful landscapes. It is a self-administered holiday centre with an uncomplicated and open atmosphere. The guests cook, clean and do their own things. The house is available to young and old travelling alone, as families or groups eager for education or engaged in social issues. It is a unique place for meetings and discussions. Bregaglia is an idyllic alpine valley that connects the canton of Graubünden to the north, with Italy to the south.

Type of Work: The work will involve mainly cleaning and maintenance of paths and pastures. We will also root out neophytes in Maloja with Pro Natura (Swiss nature protection organization). As far as possible, we will work in the Maloja area, but for certain kind of works we will also be in the Bregaglia valley. So be aware there may be relatively long journeys to and from work.

blankBELGIUM: Intercultural activities in the Refugee Center of Natoye (1st – 15th July)

Description: Since 2006, the Red Cross center in Natoye “Le Relais du Monde” is a reception center for applicants for international protection. The residents of the center benefit from accommodation, food, material assistance, social support and medical follow-up during the refugee status process as well as schooling for children and trainings for adults. It has also recently opened a reception center for a dozen young unaccompanied minors (MENA) under 18 years of age.

Type of Work: Based on a schedule drawn up at the beginning of the project, the volunteers will propose recreational and diverse activities (art, cooking, outdoor games and sports) to the adults and teenagers of the center. Material will be provided. Given the fragile condition of the residents of the center, the volunteers will wear neutral clothes. Free time: weekends and some evenings.

blankGERMANY: Live Big in a Tiny House (3rd – 22nd July)

Description: Build a Tiny House together with other volunteers and learn more about minimalistic lifestyles. This workcamp takes place directly at the Schluchsee surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the Black Forest. At the end of the camp, the participants should have acquired enough skills to be able to build their own Tiny House. For this purpose, the individual construction steps are explained and discussed, and the participants can practice them right away during the workcamp.

Type of Work: With the help of experts, the house walls are manufactured and erected, windows and doors are installed and the roof structure is mounted. The wooden post-and-beam walls are insulated and clad with wood on the inside and outside. Inside, a gallery and a partition wall for the small planned bathroom are being built. Electricity and water supply as well as the installation of a wood heating system are also part of the work camp.

blankPORTUGAL: Stage on the street: all included! (5th – 16th July)

Description: To support the local community, namely the Cooperative Cercimarante, an institution linked to young people with disabilities, in the preparation of the Street Theatre; Developing the autonomy and self-esteem of young people with disabilities; Stimulating the contact of young people with fewer opportunities with other young people from different cultures; Fostering the personal and social development of young volunteers through non-formal education activities; and much more!

Type of Work: .group dynamics; presentation to the city and region; discussion on the workcamp theme (objectives, tasks division); visit to the most important places of the city; training on theatre performance and workshop on how to deal with the difference; direct contact and work with local NGO (Cercimarante) responsible for activities with local handicapped young people; organize an event (theatre performance) involving both groups (workcamp participants and local handicapped young people) to be presented to the local community.

blankBELGIUM: Experience Permaculture and a Kids Summercamp in a sustainable way! (17th July – st1 August)

Description: “Les Amis du Village” in Beauvechain is above all, a place of discovery and exchange of the principles of permaculture. This citizen initiative, led by a couple and their relatives, offers internships, training and workshops to people who may wish to discover gardening techniques, food preservation or mushroom cultivation in a spirit of individual and group creativity. Locally rooted and set in a green scenery, “Friends of the Village” aims to strengthen ties with locals while inviting volunteers from all places to join their experience.

Type of Work: The first week of the project, the volunteers will work in the vegetable garden and will carry out various tasks (harvesting, cleaning, composting, construction, sowing, planting, etc.). The second week will be devoted to the entertainment of children. Indeed, the place hosts summer camps for kids and the volunteers will create and lead activities as well as playful workshops for them. The end of the project will finish with an “Open House” day in collaboration with 2 other permaculture places in the region. Volunteers will help set up the event, assist with certain tasks (entertainment, bar, etc.) and attend the other partner projects.

blankPORTUGAL: Avanca 2022 (22nd July – 2nd August)

Description: Volunteers in this work camp are involved in various levels of the organization, providing a determinant support for the success of this International Meeting. Being AVANCA an idea sharing favored space, creative fusion and cultural interchange between, professionals, students and cinema and multimedia lovers, IWC volunteers will naturally participate and dive in this international, culture and creative atmosphere.

Type of Work: During preparation and setting phase: Signposting setting for the different spaces in AVANCA 2022; Poster and pending poster distribution; Exposition setting and Organization; Adaptation of the Egas Moniz school classrooms for workshops attainment; Workshop related Video-Informatics equipment installation and testing; and much more! During the Festival: Check-in support for the AVANCA 2022 participants and guests; Maintenance of the Workshop rooms; Cantina support; Support during competitive sessions; Cleaning. etc

blankGERMANY: Never forget! (30th July – 12th August)

Description: Since 1983, an international youth encounter with over 100 young people from 20 countries has taken place in Dachau every summer. As part of this encounter, the SCI volunteers take part in various workshops with questions on the history and contemporary relevance of National Socialism as well as in discussions with survivors. The focus is on the study part. More information about the camp can be found here.

Type of Work: In contrast to other workcamps, in this camp the main emphasis will be put on the studies. The volunteers will learn about the history of National Socialism through communication with survivors and through active participation in workshops. Current political situations will also be discussed.

blankSWITZERLAND: Art Camp (1st – 13th August)

Description: The “Creative Workshop” (Atelier “Kreativ-werkstatt”), which is to be understood as an art space, is open to young artists, teachers, children, young people, etc. It offers users various opportunities to develop their creative skills. People should be able to meet and exchange ideas in an unconventional way that is neither consumption- nor profit-oriented, and be encouraged to spend their time in a meaningful way.

Type of Work: For a fortnight, young people with and without a migration background work on intercultural written images, which are then accessible to a wide audience during an exhibition. Together, the young people create small-format wedge frames with the material available. Using a brush, pen, pencil or other tools and natural material, the young people will write their own short texts, poems, word collages, etc. or those of writers on the canvases to be created.

blankPORTUGAL: Another World Is Possible! (19th – 30th September)

Description: Support to local/regional organic farmers to raise awareness among the participants and the population on organic farms, organic food and fair trade; to develop skills related to agriculture work in organic farms and environment preservation; to run activities in order to increase the level of commitment at local level (Amarante) for organic and Fair-Trade products.

Type of Work: working in organic farms from the region of Amarante; training on fair trade and sustainable development (ex.: workshop about Fair Trade and healthy food); presentation to the city and region; group dynamics; visit to the most important places of the city; visits to some of the main cities and spots in the North of Portugal (Guimarães, Porto, Alto Douro Vinhateiro and Parque Natural do Alvão).

CAMPS DE TREBALL AL TERRITORI

blankAMETLLA DEL VALLÈS: Reconstruction of a hostel and work with children and young people in Catalonia (9th – 17th April)

Description: Fundació Roser de Maig is an ENL for social, educational and leisure action. The foundational aims are towards leisure education and sociocultural animation, which are carried out through a social task and to help those people who need it most. The promotion of spaces for the development of socio-educational activities, as well as a musical space, are key to our raison d’être, trying to reach as many participants as possible. We offer support projects with other entities in the city. We have other projects in Catalonia, as well as internationally.

Type of Work: The proposed tasks are the reconstruction and adaptation of outdoor spaces. These are very extensive and some are disused due to the poor condition in which they are found. In addition, the organization works with children and young people, so they will participate jointly in the revitalization of these.

blankARBÚCIES: Natural spaces recovery in Arbúcies (9th – 24th July)

Description: The project will be carried out in mountainous town of Arbúcies, focusing on the rehabilitation of an old dry pond and the river stream. The work will mainly consist of conditioning the pond, restore it by building a small wall, planting the necessary vegetation, and finally redirecting the river and reintroducing some species that are considered key to its biodiversity. In addition to that, similar complementary works in other sections of the park / stream might be carried out to.

Type of Work: The main purpose is to rehabilitate a dry ~100m2 pond. This will involve cleaning up the space (removing soil, uprooting weeds…) and rehabilitation tasks (planting plants, building a small wall, shaping the ground …). Working conditions will be 4-5 hours a day, 5 days a week (Mon-Fri). Most basic and low complexity instruments (shovels, spades …) will be used. Volunteers will not have to swim or dive in the pound, as water will only come through once all rehabilitation tasks will be finished.

blankROVIRA NOVA: Labyrinth in the Rovira Nova workcamp (18th – 28th July)

Description: The purpose of the Rovira Nova space is to generate personal and collective transformation processes through regular activities such as peace dances, yoga, meditations, theater and various body awareness therapies (TCI, Río Abierto, Taichi, biodance, etc.). They do not currently have a website. They communicate via email.

Type of Work: The main task of the workcamp is to constuct a labyrinth of mediation in the location.Other activities that can be done are talks, debates, outings and visits of interest to the topic, artistic expression activities, street actions, discovery of other projects.

blankVALLS: Can Pipirimosca (24th July – 7h August)

Description: Can Pipirimosca is an ecological farm where agriculture, far from being the main objective, is the means that allows the organization of cultural and associative activities. From the operation as a farm, a production is obtained that allows self-sufficiency and the possibility of making a sustainable lifestyle and consistent with the environment where exchange, multiculturalism, coexistence, personal growth and education in values are the ultimate goals.

Type of Work: You will have an experience depply ecological, sustainable food, no coffee etc. The main project will be to help in the maintenance of a shed next to the house which will be the space where courses, workshops will be held. You should be advised that the work to be done will be mostly physical.

blankVALL DE SIARB: Recovery of old roads and dry stone building elements and discovery of an unusual valley in the Pyrenees (26th September – 7th October)

Description: BalmesBlancs is an association that started its activity by organizing thematic experiences in nature with the aim of knowing the environment in different topics, such as: canyoning with geology, snowshoeing with learning snow , trips to the sea with knowledge of marine fauna, etc. From 2013 the entity began to manage the Vall de Siarb Refuge, a rural accommodation located in the village of Llagunes (Pallars Sobira).

Type of Work: The technical work that will be carried out in the field of work consists, in general, in different related tasks with improving the paths of the Valley. The following are the main ones: Clearing roads; Rebuild the dry stone wall sections; Remove stones from the road; Improvement of paved sections; Improved signage with paint.

blankBARCELONA: FESC – Fair of Economical Solidarity Catalonia (21st – 29th October)

Description: The Solidarity Economy Fair of Catalonia is the time of year when all the entities in the field are grouped in the same space and debate on the role of another economy in Catalonia. At the same time, it means an extra workload. This is an opportunity for a good exchange between people interested in the movement of alternative economies and who can lend a hand in the assembly and sustainment of the X FESC

Type of Work: The volunteers’ tasks will consist of supporting the logistics of the Solidarity Economy Fair of Catalonia. For example: the preparation of the material, the assembly of the space, the distribution of materials and the disassembly of the Fair, among others.
