Els camps de treball per a persones menors d’edat permeten la participació de joves a partir de 16 anys que vulguin ser part d’un voluntariat transformador
La majoria dels camps de treball són per a persones que ja tenen 18 anys. Tot i això, hi ha alguns projectes que accepten també persones joves menors d’edat a partir dels 16 anys. Per trobar-los, només cal que posis el filtre “International volunteers under 18” a l’apartat d’opcions del buscador de camps d’SCI Internacional.
La quota de participació en un camp és de 150€ que inclouen els 100€ en despeses de gestió, formació prèvia i assegurança i els 50 € de la quota anual de sòcia de l’SCI Catalunya. Aquí tens tots els passos a seguir per inscriure’t a un camp de treball. Abans de participar en qualsevol camp de treball és obligatori anar a alguna de les formacions prèvies. Enguany són els dies 28 i 29 de maig a Cabrera de Mar i el 18 i 19 de juny a Cambrils.

ESTONIA: Kaasiku Organic Farm I (1st-8th May)
Description: For years EstYES has been cooperating with farms all over Estonia for solidarity, respect and practical support to local people who work in agricultural sector keeping traditional life style and developing new eco-farming despite of all difficulties. Kaasiku Organic Farm is one of such projects. This is an organic farm promoting sustainable lifestyle, and this camp is proposed for volunteers who appreciate and share its values, want to learn more about it and to help hard working people. Minimum age 17 years.
Type of Work: The main task for volunteers will be to weed and picking berries by hand, also to harvest vegetables and salads. In addition to weeding and harvesting task, volunteers will clean the vegetables and make them together with other farm s products (frozen berries and juices) ready for consumers in different organic shops around the country. Volunteers will be guided to learn the summer-time apple tree cutting methods. Other apple plantation maintenance practices are also available. Volunteers have to be motivated to work outdoors doing sometimes quite physical work under changing weather conditions. Note that volunteers will work all working days and on Saturday mornings as the camp takes place on the peak of the harvesting season.
SWITZERLAND: Mountain Paths and Pastures (31st May – 11th June)
Description: Salecina is located at the border of Upper Engadin and Bergell in one of the most beautiful landscapes. It is a self-administered holiday centre with an uncomplicated and open atmosphere. The guests cook, clean and do their own things. The house is available to young and old travelling alone, as families or groups eager for education or engaged in social issues. It is a unique place for meetings and discussions.
Minimum age 16 years.
Type of Work: The work will involve mainly cleaning and maintenance of paths and pastures. We will also root out neophytes in Maloja with Pro Natura (Swiss nature protection organization). As far as possible, we will work in the Maloja area, but for certain kind of works we will also be in the Bregaglia valley. So be aware there may be relatively long journeys to and from work.
BELGIUM: Tale Festival of Chiny (3rd – 14th July)
Description: The Chiny Youth House aims at the socio-cultural development of its region, by proposing leisure, discovery and encounter activities to young people. Within this frame, The Youth Center has been participating for several years, in collaboration with the association “Chiny, Cité des Contes”, in the organization of the Chiny Tale Festival. This festival is held for a weekend, in the enchanting setting of the village of Chiny, and offers the public a bunch of storytelling performances in French by international storytellers (Belgium, Niger, Canada, Italy, Japan).
Minimum age 16 years. Language: French.
Type of Work: The volunteers will work with youth from the region and the professional staff from the festival (200 volunteers on the festival) to set up the performance halls, ensure stewardship during the festival, help with the organization and finally dismantle the site at the end of the festival. The festival takes place on the weekend, the volunteers will work 10 days and will have 3 days off for leisure and discovery at the end. Chiny is a small town located in the Belgian Ardennes, in the Gaume region, near the French border. Various outdoor activities are possible (kayak on the Semois, hiking, visit of the Bouillon castle, the Abbey of Orval).
CZECH REPUBLIC: Farmstudio – Art, History, Nature (10th – 18th July)
Description: The workcamp is organized in cooperation with a NGO Farmstudio, an independent cultural center located in an historic agricultural farm in the village of VysokEU in the Kokorin region. Farmstudio focuses on contemporary live art and culture in connection to cultural and natural heritage. They organize international art residencies, contemporary art exhibitions, creative workshops and multi-genre cultural events.
Minimum age 17 years.
Type of Work: Work will be diverse and manual, you will be able to choose according to your interest and physical abilities. The tasks will include plastering, wood working, renovation of wooden and metal elements, painting, mowing the grass, landscaping etc. Please bring clothes that can get dirty and/or damaged, good shs, a cap to protect yourself from the sun and raincoat for rainy days. The work takes place at the same area where you will be accomodated.
CZECH REPUBLIC: Renovate a Baroque Rectory in Semnevice (22nd – 31st July)
Description: This workcamp is organized in cooperation with the association Fara Semnevice (Rectory Semnevice ) in the village of Semnevice. The association strives to build a sustainable community, to support regional ecological and educational activities and to revitalize the Baroque rectory. According to the association s vision, the rectory should become a place where people of different personalities, cultures, nationalities, and religions can meet and live together. The aim of this workcamp is to renovate the rectory and its surroundings, including the community spirit.
Minimum age 17 years.
Type of Work: You will work on the interior design of the building (grinding window frames, painting, moving material, varnishing) and in the rectory garden (landscaping, renovation of stone walls and fences, chopping wood, mowing, moving soil, taking care of vegetable beds, planting trees and shrubs). In case of interest, it is possible to help with more specialized work, such as masonry. The work at the rectory is diverse and will be assigned to you according to your abilities. Please bring appropriate work clothes and shs.
SWITZERLAND: Pro Terra Engiadina (31st July – 13th August)
Description: The Foundation Pro Terra Engiadina (PTE) is a cross-sector foundation which aims to maintain and promote the natural and cultural landscape, as well as biodiversity in the Engadine valley. Given its involvement with many sectors, PTE integrates ecological connectivity into the spatial planning which is one of its strengths. Members of the foundation board are all municipalities of the Lower Engadine, different environmental protection NGOs, the Swiss National Park, the regional Tourism destination, different sections of the Cantonal administration as well as the Cantonal School for farmers.
Minimum age 16 years.
Type of Work: The focus is on the maintenance and promotion of biodiversity in dry meadows, peatlands or community gardens. Other work depends on weather conditions: clearing shrubbery from dry meadows, peatlands and along cultural structures; collecting stones to build cairns or dry-stone walls; retrieving branches and stacking them into piles; maintaining water streams; help in community or school gardens, participating in a Littering Project by collecting litter in an area along the main river in Engadine, the Inn River. You can also participate in environmental education events if your language skills allow it or if they are hold in English.
CZECH REPUBLIC: Teens at the Hauenstejn Castle (6th – 20th August)
Description: The workcamp is organised in cooperation with the organisation Opri se at the Hauenstejn Castle. The castle was founded in the 13th century but after WWII slowly turned into a ruin. The castle has been under reconstruction since the year 2 000 thanks to the new owner Pavel PalackE 1/2, Opri se and other volunteers. The volunteers will join teens from Czech childrens homes and together they will help with the reconstruction, everyday tasks and maintenance of the castle. The aim of the workcamp is also creating an international environment that will motivate teenagers from children s homes to actively use English.
Minimum age 15 years.
Type of Work: The main aim of the workcamp is to help to revive the castle and to enable youth from childrens homes and foster care institutions to meet people from different parts of the world, to practice English and to break stereotypes. The work will be mainly manual and carried out outdoors. You will be cutting shrubs, chopping wood, cleaning courtyards, painting furniture, cleaning the castle and its surroundings, basic landscaping and renovations (digging, preparing paths etc.), and other tasks related to the general maintenance and reconstruction of the castle.
CZECH REPUBLIC: Back to Nature for Families (20th – 27th August)
Description: EUROSOLAR promotes renewable energies, sustainable lifestyle; it engages in youth environmental education and organises environmental summer camps for children, youth and families. The workcamp takes place in a remote but exceptionally beautiful, hilly area of Bohemian Forest, near the western border of the Czech Republic. The campsite is isolated from civilization and we welcome volunteers that are fond of trying out a basic lifestyle in the forest and do not mind longer walks.This year the workcamp will be organised for the 22nd time. The goal is to help maintain meadows in a nature protected area, maintain the campsite and enjoy nature.
Minimum age 16 years.
Type of Work: Children and parents will work together when possible (e.g. helping with cooking, collecting wood, harvesting vegetables and gardening). Work will be organised in two groups. The first one will be working in a nature reserve located 3km away from the campsite, their work will consist of mowing grass, raking and collecting grass. Please note that the meadows can be very wet; bring waterproof working shs (or rubber boots), a raincoat and a hat to protect yourself from the sun. The second group will be working on the campsite preparing food, collecting wood, doing maintenance tasks or working in the nearby forest.
CZECH REPUBLIC: Back to Nature (27th August – 9th September)
Description: EUROSOLAR promotes renewable energies, sustainable lifestyle; it engages in youth environmental education and organises environmental summer camps for children, youth and families. The workcamp takes place in a remote but exceptionally beautiful, hilly area of Bohemian Forest, near the western border of the Czech Republic. The campsite is isolated from civilization and we welcome volunteers that are fond of trying out a basic lifestyle in the forest and do not mind longer walks. This year the workcamp will be organised for the 22nd time. The main goal is to help maintain meadows in a nature protected area and maintain the campsite.
Minimum age 17 years.
Type of Work: You will work in a nature reserve about 3 km from the campsite to where you will walk on foot. The main work will consist of mowing, raking and collecting grass on protected meadows. This work might be physically demanding. As the meadows can be very wet, make sure to bring waterproof working shs (or rubber boots), rain-gear and hat to protect yourself from the sun. Work gloves will be provided for you. You will also work directly in the campsite on maintenance tasks and in the nearby forest by doing various manual jobs. At the end of the workcamp, you will help to dismantle the campsite and to transport all the material to Prague where it will be stored during winter.
ESTONIA: Kaasiku Organic Farm II (18th – 25th September)
Description: For years EstYES has been cooperating with farms all over Estonia for solidarity, respect and practical support to local people who work in agricultural sector keeping traditional life style and developing new eco-farming despite of all difficulties. Kaasiku Organic Farm is one of such projects. This is an organic farm promoting sustainable lifestyle, and this camp is proposed for volunteers who appreciate and share its values, want to learn more about it and to help hard working people. Kaasiku Organic Farm is situated in the South of Estonia. It is one of the few functional farms in this area. The major crops grown are apples, strawberries and raspberries, in smaller amounts different salads and radish. In the farm, near to strawberry field also local beekeeper holds its honey bees to collect nectar and pollen from organically grown cultures and from organic hayfield.
