Comunicat del Servei Civil Internacional de Catalunya arrel dels atacs que van tenir lloc a Barcelona i Cambrils
[Comunicat]: Responem a la violència i l'odi amb la defensa incondicional dels drets humans, la pau i la solidaritat
Des del Servei Civil Internacional de Catalunya condemnem rotundament els atacs terroristes que van tenir lloc ahir, 17 d’agost de 2017, a les Rambles de Barcelona i posteriorment a Cambrils. En primer lloc volem expressar el nostre condol a les víctimes i als seus familiars i amics, i desitjar una ràpida recuperació a totes aquelles que es troben encara hospitalitzades.
Expressem la nostra solidaritat amb les veïnes i veïns de Barcelona i del barri del Raval, que van presenciar ahir l’horror al seus carrers i que van reaccionar sense dubtar-ho oferint la seva ajuda i suport a les persones afectades.
Rebutgem enèrgicament tant la violència que rau en les causes d’aquests atacs i altres similars que tenen lloc en altres indrets, com qualsevol altre tipus de violència que se’n pugui derivar. Ens unim a la denúncia de Lafede.cat i altres organitzacions del teixit associatiu català contra les causes d’aquest terror injustificat i demanem a totes les institucions i partits, així com a la societat civil, que la resposta no sigui altra que la defensa incondicional dels drets humans, la pau i la solidaritat. No oblidem que la violència neix dels conflictes armats – 36 en l’actualitat oberts-, de la venda d’armes de la que Espanya és potència exportadora, i de les desigualtats econòmiques i violacions de drets humans arreu.
En cap cas, la por pot ser una excusa per fomentar el discurs de l’odi o la privació de llibertats. És per això que, avui més que mai, rebutgem el racisme, la xenofòbia i la criminalització de col·lectius concrets. Defensem una societat diversa i rica en cultures, religions i orígens, unida contra aquells que ens volen imposar el terror a través de la violència.
Seguim exigint l’arribada de persones refugiades i migrants com a resposta digna i universal. Reafirmem el nostre compromís amb la pau global i la solidaritat internacional i seguim treballant en la direcció oposada a la barbàrie i l’enfrontament. La nostra resposta a l’odi és l’amor. La nostra resposta a la violència, la llibertat. I la nostra resposta a la por, la lluita valenta en solidaritat amb tots els pobles i cultures.
[Statement]: We answer to violence and hatred with an unconditional defence of human rights, peace and solidarity
From the Service Civil International Catalonia we strongly condemn the terrorist attacks that took place yesterday, August 17th 2017, on the Ramblas of Barcelona and later on in Cambrils. First of all, we would like to express our condolences to the victims and their relatives and friends, and wish for a quick recovery to those who are still hospitalized.
We express our solidarity with the neighbours of Barcelona and El Raval, who witnessed horror in their streets and reacted without hesitation offering their help and support to the people affected.
We strongly reject both the violence that lies in the causes of these attacks and similar events anywhere, as well as any other type of violence that may arise from them. We denounce the causes of this unjustified terror and ask all institutions and parties, as well as to civil society, to answer with the unconditional defense of Human Rights, Peace and Solidarity. We do not forget that violence arises from armed conflicts – currently open 36 – of arms sales of which Spain is an export power, and from economic inequalities and human rights violations everywhere.
In no case can fear allow hate speech or privacy of freedom. That is why, today more than ever, we reject racism, xenophobia and criminalization of specific groups. We defend a diverse and rich society in cultures, religions and origins, and we stand together against those who want to impose terror through violence.
We continue to demand the arrival of refugees and migrants as a worthy and universal response. We reaffirm our commitment to global peace and international solidarity and continue working in the opposite direction to barbarism and confrontation. Our response to hate is love. Our response to violence is freedom. And our response to fear is the courageous struggle in solidarity with all peoples and cultures.
