“It was a pleasure to become a part of the children’s growth”

Last two weeks of June I spent away from my intensive life in the center of Barcelona and I coordinated a camp in a Chestnut Tree School close to Llinars del Valles. Surrounded by trees, fresh air, sheeps, mosquitos and running children I learned a lot about an alternative way of teaching the youngest ones. I was surprised to discover how kids between 6 and 11 years old have developed their emotional intelligence and nonviolent communication so well. It was a pleasure to become a part of their growth together with other volunteers, by playing with them and teaching them English.

I hope one day I can go back to visit the school or even maybe stay there for longer. I know that when I come back I will be welcomed with open arms by all the teachers, parents and children. That warmness and kindness is what makes this place so special for me.
