L’SCI internacional cerca voluntàries EVS per la seva oficina a Bèlgica!

Les tasques que desenvoluparan són de comunicació i difusió, així com suport a projectes relacionats amb persones refugiades

Where: SCI International Secretariat, Antwerp, Belgium
Project: Supporting the Building Bridges Campaign,
Communication & Fundraising
Period: 1/10/2016 – 30/09/2017

For more than 95 years the international network of SCI has promoted a culture of peace by organizing international volunteering projects aimed at creating paths of social inclusion and social justice, in a constant effort to overcome cultural barriers and divisions among people and, above all, to work on the socio-political dynamics that determine them.  Many SCI branches have high level experience in the implementation of projects and activities for and with refugees and asylum seekers and consequently valuable knowledge to share. In order to further collaborate and strengthen the impact and involvement SCI is in the process of launching the campaign “Building Bridges” (BB) in follow up to the project of the same name that was implemented in 2015. The campaign will encompass all SCI activities and projects with and for refugees and asylum seekers.

In this context the International Secretariat will carry out an EVS project that will at give 2 young people the opportunity to increase their knowledge and understanding on issues surrounding refugees and asylum seekers in Europe and beyond, as well as to contribute to raising awareness of the work SCI does to overcome these divisions. The current atmosphere in Europe shows that more awareness is crucial.

This project will therefore aim at two young people acquiring skills and knowledge in this area while at the same time demonstrating how volunteering contributes to more tolerance and understanding between people.  The main tasks will be Communication and Fundraising tasks, divided between the 2 EVS volunteers depending on their qualifications and interests.
