About the project

The ‘Training of mentors’ aims to strengthen the capacity of youth workers, trainers, and active members of youth organisations to design, implement, and support high-quality mentoring processes for young people, especially in contexts of long term volunteering schemes such as service civique, ESC or other international long term volunteering programmes.

Mentorship plays a key role in empowering young people, supporting their learning pathways, and fostering personal, social, and professional development. Through this ‘Training of mentors’, participants will explore mentoring as a structured process based on trust, guidance, reflection, and non-formal education methodologies.

Objectives of the training

● Strengthen participants’ understanding of mentorship concepts, roles, and ethics.
● Develop practical skills to mentor young people and volunteers in local and international projects
● Explore tools for learning support, reflection, and follow-up
● Enhance competencies in communication, active listening, feedback, and conflict management
● Promote inclusive and supportive mentoring approaches
● Create a network of trained mentors able to support future Erasmus+, European Solidarity Corps and youth initiatives.
